Oukitel WP13 Review

Primary camera

The Oukitel WP13 is equipped with three rear cameras aided by a LED flash. The main shooter uses a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor with a 1/2" optical format and a 0.8 μm pixel size. The camera has an f/1.79 aperture and shoots QHD videos (2560 x 1440) at 30 fps. It supports phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). For portraits, the main camera uses the 0.3MP depth-sensing lens. Other smartphones which we have reviewed and use the same sensor for their main camera are the Doogee S95 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 9T/Redmi K20.
The third rear camera is a 2MP macro one using a GalaxyCore GC02M2 sensor with a 1/5" optical format and a 1.75 μm pixel size. It is coupled to a lens with an f/1.79 aperture. This camera is accessed by tapping on the wide-angle icon when you have the Camera app activated. It is also capable of shooting HD videos.

Secondary camera

The front-facing camera of the Oukitel WP13 uses an 8MP OmniVision OV8858 sensor paired to an f/1.79 lens. The camera shoots photos with a resolution of 3088 x 2304 pixels and 1080p videos at 30 fps.

Camera App

The Camera app has a familiar UI with a standard layout so you'll be able to find your way around the app pretty quickly. The bottom of the screen is dominated by a big white shutter button which changes its color to red if you switch to Video shooting. The default shooting mode is called Picture, it is adjoined by Video, Panorama, Beauty, Bokeh, and Pro. These modes are listed above the shutter button, which has a shortcut to the Photos to its left. The top of the screen is occupied by the camera settings icon, HDR and flash options, AI button, camera switch. The camera settings for shooting videos and taking photos are partially different reflecting the different types of actions. In general, they are limited to ZSD, scene mode, anti-shake, white balance, ISO, anti-flicker, EIS for videos, video quality, picture size, etc. The Beauty mode allows you to choose a degree of the sum of all beautification effects. You still get an option for more granular control over various features such as buffing, whitening, slimming, etc. The Bokeh mode includes a slider bar for adjusting the degree of background blur. Finally, there's the PRO mode for manual adjustment of the white balance, ISO, and exposure.

The interface for the front camera is exactly the same but offers three modes only - Picture, Video, and Beauty. The Photos app arrives with Google Lens integrated into it and can be used for previewing, editing, and deleting photos.
