Performance

Cubot KingKong AX arrives with the 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 (MT6789) chipset. We've tested many mobile devices based on this SoC and it has proven over time it delivers reliable performance and power efficiency. It comprises an octa-core CPU with two 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores as well as a 1GHz dual-core ARM Mali-G57 GPU. There are 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM clocked at 2133 MHz and it can be virtually expanded with 12GB. The built-in UFS 2.2 storage capacity measures 256 GB. It can be expanded via a microSD card slot in the hybrid, dual-SIM tray. Of the 256GB on board, 241GB are available to the user before app and software updates (if any). Other smartphones which we have reviewed and are based on the same Helio G99 chipset are Ulefone Armor Pad 2, 8849 Tank Mini 1 by Unihertz, Oukitel WP27, Oukitel OT5, 8849 Tank 2 by Unihertz, Ulefone Armor 21, Fossibot F102, Unihertz Jelly Star, Ulefone Power Armor 19T, Unihertz Luna, Ulefone Power Armor 19, Doogee S100, Unihertz Tank, and Ulefone Armor 17 Pro. Our Cubot KingKong AX review unit scored 429,989 points on AnTuTu 10. This result is average for the Helio G99 SoC and corresponds to the performance of the Snapdragon 695, Snapdragon 750G, Snapdragon 730G, and Dimensity 700 chipsets. The single-core and multi-core Geekbench 6 results show a performance that's also comparable to those system-on-chips and this is further confirmed by the PCMark Work 3.0 result.
