Motorola Moto G100 and Moto G50 go official

Motorola has announced a pair of smartphones yesterday - the Moto G100 and the Moto G50.

The Moto G100 is the international version of the Motorola Edge S released in China earlier this year. It is available in Iridescent Sky, Iridescent Ocean, Slate Grey colors and costs a lot more than its Chinese counterpart. The aluminium+glass body is IP52 rated for protection against water splashes. The device runs on Android 11 and is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 mobile platform paired to 6GB/8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage that can be expanded. The model has a hybrid dual-SIM slot and supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, 5G. It has a USB Type-C 3.1 port, a headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Moto G100 is equipped with a 6.7-inch IPS display with an FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 certification. Power is supplied by a 5000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support. The camera department is represented by a 64MP primary shooter, 16MP ultra-wide-angle unit, 2MP depth sensor, and a 3D ToF module. On the front, there are two cameras - a 16MP main unit and an 8MP ultra-wide unit. Pricing starts EUR 500 or GBP 450.

The Moto G50 is much more basic. It has a plastic body, a 6.5-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, a 5000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging (10W charger in the box), Snapdragon 480 chipset, 4GB/6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB/128GB of storage. The smartphone is equipped with a 48MP main camera adjoined by a 5MP macro unit and a 2MP depth-sensing one. On the front, there's a 16MP selfie snapper. The model supports NFC, 5G, has a USB Type-C 2.0 port, headphone jack, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It costs EUR 250.
