POCO M3 Pro 5G Review

Performance

The POCO M3 Pro is based on the 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 system-on-chip. While the main purpose of this chipset is to make 5G connectivity more accessible via mainstream smartphones, it is not bad on performance as well. The SoC houses an octa-core CPU with 2x 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and 6x 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The graphics department is managed by an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked up to 950 MHz. There are 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM by SK Hynix and 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage by SK Hynix on board. We are reviewing a 6GB+128GB unit. Of those 128GB, 109GB is available to the user. Our POCO M3 Pro review unit scored 265062 points on AnTuTu 8 and 333196 points on AnTuTu 9 beta. On Geekbench 5, the single-core points are 546 and the multi-core points are 1772. The PCMark Work 3.0 result is 8624. These results put the device close to the performance of the Snapdragon 730G chipset. The throttling tests also demonstrate that the smartphone handles it excellently. The 3DMark and GFXBench tests could not be run because Xiaomi's firmware blocks them.
