Display

Oukitel WP30 Pro is fitted with a 6.78-inch in-cell IPS display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2460). The IC model is ICNL9922C. Oukitel specifies 430 nits of brightness and 1200:1 static contrast ratio. The display supports refresh rates of 120Hz, 90Hz, and 60 Hz. You can select which of the three to be used from the Display Settings. They also allow you to adjust the brightness level, switch on/off the adaptive brightness, dark theme, and night light toggles, manage the lock screen, select the color mode, wallpaper, screen saver, and others. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 that's 1.1 mm thick.

This smartphone has a secondary display positioned on the rear shell. It uses a 1.8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 390 x 450 px, a brightness of 500 nits, and a static contrast ratio of 600000:1. It has several functions one of which is to show you the time and you can choose from multiple skins available in the dedicated settings. A very useful feature is that you can switch the camera preview on it and even snap 8MP photos with the front and/or rear camera. From the OLED display, you can browse photo albums, check the battery status, control the music player, check your step count, and receive messages and notifications. Our usual measurements of the main display including the white and black luminance, static contrast ratio, and color temperature are published below. If you follow our smartphone reviews, you already know that for a more realistic result, we make two different measurements - on a single frame that displays 50% white and 50% black and on two separate frames displaying a fully white and a fully black screen.

The maximum brightness of the display of the WP30 Pro we have is 427.03 cd/m² measured in the center of a fully white screen. Our measurements reveal a classic "behavior" of the IPS display panel with a higher brightness delivered on two separate frames and a lower one (305.186 nits) on a single frame showing 50% white and 50% black. The black luminance measured again twice is proportionately lower, hence, the static contrast ratio is 1280:1 from both types of measurements. All this also confirms Oukitel's official data for 430 nits brightness and 1200:1 static contrast. The temperature of the white point is nearing 9500 K.

Our brightness uniformity measurement shows that the display of the WP30 Pro is not uniformly bright. The top one-third of the screen is the last bright and has an average brightness of around 375 nits and a temperature of the white point of around 9260-9360 K. The middle one-third is the brightest with an average brightness of around 414 nits and a temperature of the white point from 9100 L to 9500 K. Finally, the bottom one-third has an average brightness of 385 nits. The temperature of the white point at this tier is 9200-9400 K. The CIE diagram shows that the display covers slightly more than 100% of the sRGB color space but it's not exact. The darkest blues will be slightly subtle, while the darkest magentas will be slightly punchier. Partially, the green and pinkish hues are almost perfect. However, the coverage of the red, orange, yellow, and light green hues is not. You will get puncher light greens, yellows, and orange hues with subtler reds. The display panel has a traditional vertical striped RGB subpixel arrangement.
