Cubot KingKong X Pro Review - an excellent blend of durability, performance, and functionality

The Cubot KingKong X Pro is a blend of innovation, durability, and performance, designed to withstand the most challenging environments. Those familiar with the KingKong series of the brand must have already noticed that the X Pro is a bespoke KingKong X and the Star 2 sibling. The three devices share a familiar design and almost identical camera departments. The KingKong X Pro inherits the big battery from the KingKong X and the larger 144Hz display and Dimensity 8200 chip from the KingKong Star 2. The result is a good-looking ruggedized smartphone with a fast display, excellent performance, and impressive battery life. Specifications

Cubot KingKong X Pro boasts a 6.72-inch IPS display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2460 px). It supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and has a typical brightness of 500 nits. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. The rest of the materials used for the device include tough polycarbonate, lightweight metal, and shock-absorbing rubber. The model is IP68- and IP69K-rated and has a MIL-STD-810H certification for being resistant to water, dust, dirt, drops, extreme temperatures, and many other environmental hazards. A 10200 mAh battery pack powers the smartphone supporting 33W fast charging. The MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset ensures on one hand excellent performance and on the other - excellent power efficiency. It houses a 3.1GHz octa-core CPU and a 950MHz hexa-core Mali-G610 GPU, paired with 12GB/24GB of LPPDR5 RAM that can be virtually expanded by another 12GB or 24GB depending on the version. There are also 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. The camera department of the KingKong X Pro is headed by a 100MP OmniVision OVA0B sensor paired with an f/1.8 lens. It is adjoined by a 5MP GalaxyCore GC05A2 macro camera with autofocus and a 0.3MP depth sensor. A 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor is used by the selfie camera. There's a secondary display on the rear wheel with a diagonal size of 1.85 inches and a resolution of 320 x 386 px. The device has a hybrid, dual-SIM tray supporting dual 5G connectivity. The Cubot KingKong X Pro runs on Android 14 and supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Cast Display. It also has a USB Type-C port and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device works with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou.
