Battery Tests

The Oukitel WP13 packs a 5280 mAh Li-Pol battery and arrives with an 18W (9V/2A) fast charger. In this section, we demonstrate the model's battery life in real-life conditions and compare it with the battery life of other smartphones we have tested in the same way. All battery tests we run on the devices we review are developed by us and performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m². Battery-saving features are disabled. The battery of our review unit charged in full for 1 hour and 55 minutes with the provided USB cable and charger. The charging process begins at a snappy pace that is maintained until the battery regains 60% of its capacity. This happens 48 minutes from the start. After that, it slows down only a bit, and for the next 20 minutes, the battery regains another 20% to reach 80%. At that moment, charging slows down even more and the charging from 80% to 90% takes 12 minutes. Finally, the last 10% require 35 minutes to be completed as the charging speed drops significantly at that point. The battery's temperature starts at 32°C, jumps to 34°C in seconds, and gradually increases to 50°C, when the battery reaches 60% of its capacity. That temperature level is maintained for about 20 minutes and after that, the temperature begins to decrease reaching 35°C in the end. During our intensive browsing test, the battery of our review unit lasted for 13 hours and 35 minutes. The discharging process is slower for the first and last 10 minutes and maintains a steady speed in between. The battery temperature starts at 31°C, reaches 37°C in two hours, and remains at this level until the end. The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate. Our review unit's score from this test is 21 hours and 36 minutes. The discharging process follows the same pattern with a bit slower first and last 10-15 minutes. The battery temperature fluctuates from 33°C to 35°C and back from the start until the end. For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the YEBIS OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Tech Demo is used. The result from this test is 9 hours and 49 minutes. The discharging pattern resembles that of the browsing and video tests. It starts slow for the first few minutes but gains speed quickly, maintaining it until the end. The battery temperature starts at 33°C. After an hour, it reaches 40-41°C and maintains it until the end. The above photos of the Oukitel WP13 are taken with a FLIR thermal camera. The left photo shows the device's temperature during charging. The hottest area of the smartphone is right below the center of the device with a temperature of 37.2°C. The second photo depicts the device's temperature during our 3D battery life test. In this case, the hottest part of the device with a temperature of 40.9°C is the top right area of the body. The second hottest area with a temperature of 40.3°C is the center of the chin.

Battery Settings

The Battery menu is a typical Android 11 one. The top of the screen contains data about the current battery capacity and status followed by the Battery Saver options, Battery Manager, Battery percentage toggle, and data about battery usage - last full charge, screen usage since full charge, etc. The Battery Manager detects apps that drain the battery and you'll have the option to restrict them.
