Oukitel WP35 Review - durability and modern aesthetics combined with excellent battery life and reliable performance

Rear cameras, photo and video samples

Oukitel WP35 arrives with a 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera with a 1/1.73" sensor and a 0.8 μm pixel size. It is paired with a 6-element lens with an f/1.9 aperture and a 79.8° field of view. The main camera records 2K videos at 30 fps. The second rear camera is a Night Vision one using an 8MP SK Hynyx Hi-846 sensor with a 1/4" optical format, an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, a 75.2° FoV, and two IR lights. Finally, there's the 2MP BYD BF2257CS macro lens with a 1/5" optical format, an f/2.2 aperture, and a 76° FoV. Below we provide photo and video samples shot with the main and macro cameras.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Oukitel WP35 uses a 32MP Sony IMX616 sensor with a 1/2.74" optical format and 0.8 μm pixel size. It is paired with an f/2.2 lens with a 78° FoV. The front camera supports face recognition and face unlock and can record FHD videos at 30 fps.

Camera App

The Camera app is the same as the one of the WP33 Pro which we have also reviewed. The bottom of the main screen houses the big round shutter button. The camera switch is to its right and the shortcut to the photos and videos is to its left. The reel with shooting modes appears above them. The default one is called "Picture" and it supports AI scene recognition, LED flash, and digital zoom. There's also a settings cog icon in the top right corner of the screen. The pine tree icon above "Picture" designates that you're working with the main camera. If you tap on the flower icon, you will switch to shooting with the macro camera. The same switch between the main and macro cameras is applicable in the "Video" shooting mode. "Night Vision" switches to the 8MP SK Hynix camera that also supports autofocus and video recording. The main camera snaps 16MP photos by default. If you want to snap 64MP photos, you have to use the 64MP mode. "Beauty" is a shooting mode that allows you to make portraits by adjusting the background blur and adding beautification features. The background blur can also be adjusted in the "Portrait" and the "Bokeh" shooting modes that can be accessed from the "More" tab. It also includes the "Pro" mode, Gif, Panorama, Mono, and QR code. The "Pro" mode enables you to adjust manually the white balance, ISO, exposure, focus style, and shutter speed. The interface for the front camera is identical and lacks the modes that are not supported by it. The camera settings are also the same as the ones for the rear cameras. The More tab contains the Mono and Gif modes. Photo editing is done via the default Photos app, which has Google Lens integrated. From here, you can enhance, warm, or cool an image, adjust its brightness, contrast, white point, highlights, and other properties, crop, add filter, text, or markup.
