Ulefone Note 16 Pro Review

Primary camera

Ulefone Note 16 Pro's rear camera setup is simple comprising two cameras. The main one uses a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 sensor with a 1/2.76" optical format and a 0.64 μm pixel size. Because of the pixel-binning technology used by the sensor, the main camera yields 12MP photos. There's an Ultra Res option, if you want to shoot with the original resolution. The lens accompanying the sensor uses 5 elements with a 74.26° and an f/1.8 aperture. It records FHD videos at 30 fps. Another smartphone that we have reviewed and uses an S5KJN1 sensor for its main camera is the POCO M4 Pro 5G. The second rear camera of the Ulefone Note 16 Pro is a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 macro unit with an f/2.4 aperture. Below we provide several sample photos and a video shot with the main camera of this device.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Ulefone Note 16 Pro uses an 8MP Sony IMX219 sensor with 1.12 μm pixels and a 4-element lens with an f/2.0 aperture and a 77.5° FoV. It can also shoot 720p videos at 30 fps.

Camera App

The Camera app has quite a standard layout with the three main buttons at the bottom, the shooting modes reel above them, and the options+settings on the top. The default shooting mode is called "Capture" and from here you can access the options for the LED flash settings, HDR, beautification, filters, and shooting settings such as photo resolution and others. The second shooting mode is Video with options for the LED flash and video recording settings such as video resolution, EIS, etc. The Pro mode is to the left of "Capture" and lets you manually adjust the exposure, shutter speed, autofocus style, ISO, and white balance. The "Portrait" mode offers additional settings such as aperture size. There's also a Panorama mode and an Ultra res one. The latter allows you to shoot in the original sensor resolution. Finally, there's the "More" mode which include options for Time Lapse videos, Slow Motion videos, Audio note, QR Code scanning, Macro photos, and Night mode. The interface for the front camera is the same. Whenever you choose an option or a shooting mode that's not supported by the front camera, the device automatically switches to the main one. The Photos app is the default application to open and edit a photo. It arrives with Google Lens embedded.
