The company's announcement frames the 15R as a device that narrows the gap between marathon battery life and mainstream flagship performance, a compromise that aims to appeal to users who want long endurance without the bulk of the largest battery phones.
The new model adopts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform and OnePlus touts strong benchmark potential, with early AnTuTu figures cited around 3.5 million points in previews. That choice of chipset suggests OnePlus is balancing raw performance with thermal and power efficiency for sustained real-world use rather than chasing peak synthetic scores. The company also emphasizes a high-refresh-rate display: the 15R features a 6.83-inch OLED display panel with a 165 Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and a 1.5K resolution that mirrors the visual ambitions of OnePlus's premium models.
Battery life remains a headline feature even after the reduction from the Ace 6T’s larger cell: the OnePlus 15R ships with a 7,400 mAh battery, down from the Ace's 8,300 mAh, a change OnePlus frames as a trade-off to slim the device and refine other components. Despite the cut, the capacity still places the 15R among the more enduring global flagships, and OnePlus highlights longevity and charging resilience as part of the device’s value proposition. Camera adjustments accompany the hardware reshuffle: the front-facing module has been upgraded in some markets to a 32 MP selfie camera with autofocus and 4K recording, a move that underlines OnePlus's recognition of social-video and creator use cases.
The camera department comprises a 50MP Sony IMX906 main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. It is adjoined by an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 112° FoV and an f/2.2 aperture. The OnbePlus 15R also features dual stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port. It is fitted with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 4.1 storage without an option for expansion. The EU head SAR is 0.991 W/kg and the EU body SAR is 1.298 W/kg.
