Audio Test

The audio test has been performed by using the TASCAM US-2x2 audio interface and the RightMark Audio Analyzer software as usual. All audio enhancement features are disabled. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 audio test results show a small improvement compared to the Mi MIX devices from the previous generation. The THD+Noise parameter is now Good instead of Average and the IMD+Noise is Excellent, instead of Very good. The rest of the parameters retain their marks. In short, Mi MIX 3 overs slightly better-than-average audio quality. The model supports Bluetooth AAC/aptX/aptX-HD audio so you can enjoy your favourite music over a pair of compatible Bluetooth earphones. The device is equipped with a single, bottom-firing speaker, placed to the right of the USB Type-C port. According to our subjective opinion, it is loud enough but the sound is tinny, lacks depth, bass and treble - the usual downsides of mobile speakers.

Music App

Just like all other MIUI applications, the Music one has been redesigned but retains its structural logic. The landing screen of the app displays the content that's found on the Featured tab. On the top of the screen, you can switch between online music and FM Radio music. The music search bar is right next to them. The various music categories are again listed below the main photo of the screen but in MIUI 10 they are black and white and circular. The bottom menu with tabs has the icons redesigned and includes the My Music tab, Featured, Now Playing, Live (instead of Charts) and Video. The My Music screen contains a "Sign In" area and various folders - local music (the one you have stored on the device), playlists, favourites, recently played, downloads. Furthermore, the audio files you have stored on your device are listed in four tabs according to the name of the song, album, artist, and folder. The Now Playing screen retains the same design introduced for the first time in MIUI 9.6, only the background colour is changed from grey to pinkish beige. The Headphone and Audio Effect options remain unchanged.
