Battery

The battery settings of Bluboo S8 are a bit different than usual due to the 360 OS. They include a toggle for displaying the battery percentage in the status bar, a battery monitor, power consumption details, and a list of applications, which should not be restricted from establishing network connections. In addition, it contains three pre-set power saving modes: All-time power saving, Smart power saving, and Ultra power saving. By default, the Smart mode is chosen. 360 OS arrives with several applications and services, which should additionally optimise battery life. These include the Permissions options under Settings, the Speedup function, the Freezer app, and the 360 Security app. The S8 is powered by a 3450 mAh battery with a 4.4V battery core. It arrives with a 5V/2A fast charger and should provide up to 36 hours of talk time. All battery tests we run on the devices we review are developed by us and performed with the screen of the device being calibrated to 200 cd/m². Battery saving features are disabled. The system did not report battery temperature data that's why the corresponding lines on the graphs are flat. Our personal experience is that the device gets noticeably warm when charged. The battery of our review unit charged in full from 0% to 100% in 1 hour and 53 minutes. The process is step-like and a bit slower for the first ten minutes. During browsing the battery of our review unit depleted in full after 4 hours and 30 minutes. For the first 10 minutes discharging is slow. Then, it speeds up almost until the end. The video test for battery life uses a 1080p video at 30 fps with a ~20Mbps rate is used. The 3450 mAh battery of our review unit discharged from 100% to 0% in 7 hours and 44 minutes. The process starts off slowly for the first half an hour and then discharging speeds up maintaining a steady pace until the end. For the 3D Graphics/Gaming test, the Epic Citadel's tech demo in its Guided Tour mode is used. The battery depleted in almost 4 hours (3 hours and 58 minutes to be exact). Discharging is a bit slow for the first 15-20 minutes but it gains speed quickly and maintains its speed almost until the end.
