Oukitel WP61 Plus Display

Oukitel WP61 Plus has a 6.78-inch in-cell IPS display made by BOE and uses an ICNL9922C display driver. The screen has an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2460 px) and supports a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Oukitel specifies 650 nits of brightness and a 1200:1 static contrast ratio. A Corning Gorilla Glass 5 that's 1.1 mm thick protects the screen. Our usual measurements of the display, including the white and black luminance, static contrast ratio, and color temperature, are published below. If you follow our smartphone reviews, you already know that for a more realistic result, we make two different measurements - on a single frame that displays 50% white and 50% black, and on two separate frames displaying a fully white and a fully black screen.

The maximum brightness of the display of the WP61 Plus we have is 494.971 cd/m² measured in the center of a fully white screen. Expectedly, the 50% white - 50% black measurement shows a lower white luminance of 364.42 cd/m². The black luminance levels from both types of measurements are very close, so the static contrast ratio is 1678:1 for the two separate frames measurement and 1360:1 for the single frame measurement. The temperature of the white point is in the pleasant 7800 K range.

Our brightness uniformity measurement shows that the WP61 Plus display has a brighter middle and top and a slightly less bright bottom part, with levels that are not drastically different from the other two parts. More specifically, the top one-third has an average brightness of around 470.6 cd/m². The middle one-third has an average brightness of 487.755 cd/m². The bottom one-third has an average brightness of 433.112 cd/m². The temperature of the white point is in the 7600-7800 K range. The CIE diagram of the WP61 Plus screen demonstrates that the display covers a color space that's very slightly wider than the sRGB color space. It suggests that the light green, yellow, and orange hues are overexposed. The display panel has a traditional vertical striped RGB subpixel arrangement.
