Lagenio Panther 2 Pro OS, UI and software

Lagenio Panther 2 Pro runs on almost stock Android 15. It runs flawlessly and offers a good set of customization options. The Lock Screen displays the usual minimum - a huge Clock widget and a tiny Date widget. The Home Screen comprises the Google Search bar at the top with integrated Lens and Voice search and two rows of apps at the bottom. Desktop shortcuts are supported. The Task Manager tiles the app previews horizontally with options to access the app info and enter split-screen mode. By default, the list of apps is positioned on the next desktop. From the Customization Picker => Home settings, you can switch the desktop mode to activate an app drawer. You can also toggle on/off Google Discover, the Home Screen rotation, and the notifications dots. The Notifications and Quick Settings design and layout are stock Android ones.
The Lagenio Panther 2 Pro arrives with a very basic set of pre-installed applications. It comprises Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Chrome, Clock, Contacts, Drive, Easy Launcher, Files, Find Hub, Flashlight, FM radio, Gemini, Gmail, Google Discover, Keep Notes, Maps, Meet, Messages, Phone, Photos, Play Store, Safety, Settings, Sound Recorder, ToolBag, YouTube, and YT Music. The ToolBag includes a compass, sound meter, pic hanging tool, gradienter, height meter, magnifier, warning lights, plimb bob, and a protractor.
The "Settings" app comprises 23 menus, each designated with a color icon to its left. A settings search bar sits on top of the list. The first two menus are about connectivity and are detailed in the next section of this review. The "Apps" menu is third and lets you manage all applications installed on the device, track your screen time, manage the app power usage, and the app special access. The "Notifications" settings are next, with the standard options for notification history, conversations, bubbles, privacy options, flash notifications, DND mode, wireless emergency alerts, etc. "Radiant and agile" manages the LED ring on the camera island.
"Battery" and "Storage" are next, followed by the "RAM expansion" menu. As usual, if you enable/disable this feature, you have to reboot the device for the change to take effect. It is followed by the "Scheduled power on/off" menu. "Sound & vibration" is next and contains all the standard options with phone ringtones, notification and alarm sounds, five volume bars, vibration and haptics, sound enhancement, Live Caption, DND mode, sound enhancement, etc. The "Display" menu follows brightness level adjustment, toggles for the adaptive brightness, dark theme, night light, network speed, tap-to-wake, and auto-rotate screen, color and contrast options, video display enhancement tools, color contrast, screen refresh rate, lock screen and timeout settings, screen saver, and dynamic island options.
The standard "Wallpaper & style" options, which usually reside under the Customization Picker, happen to be the next menu, followed by the "Smart controls" one. The latter includes a lift-to-check-phone toggle, an option to activate a sidebar for quick shortcuts, and a toggle for three smart motion features - easy answer, easy bell, and mute incoming calls. A list of standard settings follows, grouped in the "Accessibility", "Security & privacy", "Location", "Safety & emergency", "Passwords, passkeys & accounts", "Digital Wellbeing & parental controls", and "Google" menus. The "Smart Key" menu allows you to assign shortcuts to apps and functions.
The last two menus are "System" and "About phone". From "System", you can check for updates, set the languages, customize the keyboards, set the date and time, perform backup and reset, and manage users. There's also a "Gestures" sub-menu with a toggle for quick access to the camera, system navigation options - virtual navigation bar or on-screen gestures, a one-handed mode toggle, power button options, navigation bar settings, AppLock options, a prevent ringing toggle, and a toggle for the three-finger screenshot function. The "About Phone" menu is the last and provides general information about the device, owner-related information, software build and version, IMEI numbers, SIM card status, etc.
