The smartphone arrives with a 6.7-inch FHD+ IPS display, offering sharp visuals and a wide viewing experience thanks to its slim bezels. Designed for clarity and comfort, the screen ensures text readability and smooth video playback. Under the hood, the phone runs on Android 15 and is powered by the UNISOC T8100 octa-core processor, delivering reliable performance at speeds of up to 2.2 GHz. Memory and storage are well-balanced, with 6 GB of RAM (expandable by an additional 6 GB) and 128 GB of internal storage, plus support for microSD cards up to 1 TB.
The device features a dual camera system featuring a 50MP main sensor and a 5MP macro unit. Video recording is capped at Full HD resolution. A 16MP front-facing camera ensures crisp selfies and video calls. The nubia S2 also introduces multi-camera video recording, allowing simultaneous capture from front and rear lenses - a feature aimed at travelers and content creators.
Durability is central to nubia S2's appeal. The device boasts IPX5, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance ratings, along with IP6X dust protection, making it resilient to rain, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets. It also meets MIL-STD-810H standards across 18 categories, underscoring its toughness in extreme environments. Y!mobile claims the battery retains over 92% of its capacity even after three years of use, ensuring long-term reliability. Charging from zero to full takes approximately 63 minutes with a compatible adapter. Connectivity options include 5G, LTE, and AXGP, with maximum download speeds of 1.8 Gbps on 5G and 525 Mbps on 4G. The phone supports nanoSIM and eSIM, VoLTE HD+ calling, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and GPS.
Additional features include biometric authentication via fingerprint and facial recognition, emergency alert reception, and compatibility with mobile wallet services. The Nubia S2 even retains the 3.5 mm headphone jack, a rarity in modern smartphones, catering to users who prefer wired audio.
