The iPad Air also becomes significantly more capable for AI workloads. Unified memory increases by 50% to 12GB, memory bandwidth jumps to 120GB/s, and the 16‑core Neural Engine is three times faster than the one in M1. Everyday tasks like searching photos, transcribing notes, or using AI‑enhanced apps such as Goodnotes and Onform benefit from this expanded on‑device intelligence.
For the first time, the iPad Air includes Apple's new N1 wireless chip, enabling Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support.
