Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 has a SIM tray for two Nano-SIM cards without an option for expanding the storage. Both cards support dual 4G LTE and dual VoLTE simultaneously but you have to toggle that feature on from the Network settings. LTE speeds are Cat. 18 ones. All this is due to the integrated X20 LTE modem that supports download speeds of up to 1.2Gbps and upload speeds of up to 150Mbps. The call quality with our review unit has been excellent at all times in various settings both in 3G and 4G networks. The model can be used worldwide in terms of network bands support. The table below lists the supported network bands depending on the model version. The LTE B41 4 antenna technology supports 4×4 MIMO. The SAR rating of the Mi MIX 3 is as follows: EU head 1.448 W/kg, EU body 1.568 W/kg.

The wireless connectivity options of the Mi MIX 3 include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with 2x2 MU-MiMO, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, Bluetooth 5 support for AAC/aptX/aptX-HD audio. In addition, Android Oreo includes a Wi-Fi Assistant that will connect you automatically to high quality public wireless networks when enabled. The handset employs a fully-blown NFC feature - it can be used not only for transferring files but also lets your smartphone function as a medium for secure payments. As usual, the Android Beam and Tap & Pay features are on board. You can set your default wallet and if you happen to travel to China or reside there - you can use your Mi MIX 3 as a card in public transport. Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 supports A-GPS, GPS (L1+L5), GLONASS (L1), BeiDou (B1), Galileo (E1+E5a). Obviously, this model continues the trend set from the Mi 8 to offer dual-band GPS - simultaneous reception of L1 and L5 bands. This increases accuracy, especially in urban areas. Our review unit has managed to detect satellites from all four systems with an accuracy of up to 4 meters. As long as it concerns physical ports, the model arrives with a USB Type-C 2.0 port only. It offers OTG support and there is no 3.5 mm jack. Instead, you get a Type-C headphone adapter provided in the package.
