Rear cameras, photo and video samples

The camera setup of the Cubot KingKong Power 3 is identical to that of the Cubot KingKong Star 2 and the Cubot Max 5. The main camera employs a 100MP OmniVision OVA0B sensor with a 1/1.8" optical format and a 0.612 μm pixel size. It is paired with an f/1.8 lens. By default, it outputs 25 MP images thanks to the sensor's 4-in-1 pixel binning technology. It is also capable of 2K video recording at 30 fps. The same sensor is used by the main cameras of the Cubot KingKong Star 2, Cubot Max 5, Unihertz Jelly Max, Cubot KingKong X, Tank 2 Pro by Unihertz, and the Tank Mini 1 by Unihertz. The main camera is aided by a 0.3MP depth sensor. The third rear camera is a 5MP OmniVision OV5670 macro unit with autofocus. Below we provide photo and video samples shot with the main camera.

Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Cubot KingKong Power 3 uses a 32MP Sony IMX616 sensor with a 1/2.80" optical format and 0.8 μm pixel size. It is paired with an f/2.25 lens and can record FHD videos at 30 fps. Other smartphones which we have reviewed and use the same sensor for their front cameras include Cubot KingKong Star 2, Cubot Max 5, Cubot KingKong X, Oukitel WP35, Oukitel WP33 Pro, Cubot KingKong AX, Oukitel WP30 Pro, Fossibot F102, Doos S100, Doogee V30, and Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. Below we list three sample photos shot with the front camera of the Cubot Max 5.

Camera App

The Camera app has not been changed much either. The shutter button, the camera switch, and the shortcut to the list of photos and videos are placed at the bottom. The reel of shooting modes is positioned above these buttons. A digital zoom icon appears on the right above the shooting modes. The default one is called "Picture" which lets you adjust the flash settings, switch on/off AI and HDR, and access the photo settings. The "Video" shooting mode contains an LED flash toggle and video recording settings. "Beauty" allows you to shoot portraits with the option to adjust the background blur and apply various beautification effects. "Night" uses the main camera providing longer exposure time, hence you have to use a tripod to get better images. The "More" tab contains the rest of the shooting modes. "Bokeh" is about shooting portraits by adjusting the background blur. The "Macro" mode switches to the macro camera. The "Pro" mode lets you adjust the white balance, ISO, and exposure. "100MP" is the setting that you should choose, in case you want to snap photos in the original sensor resolution. The interface for the front camera is identical but contains only the supported shooting modes - "Picture", "Video", and "Beauty". Photo editing is done via the default Photos app with integrated Google Lens.
