EMUI 5.1 has its own customised Music app, which is beautifully designed. Its home screen contains four main folders for audio files - all songs, favourites, playlists, and recents. Each can be open and displays the list of audio files in it, with a minimised player at the bottom. The player itself has a volume bar and the usual audio settings. A swipe to the right from it opens the current playlist, a swipe to right opens a screen with lyrics, if such are available online. Huawei P10 supports DTS and provides 192 kHz / 24 bit audio. As usual, the audio test is performed by using the TASCAM US-2x2 audio interface and the RightMark Audio Analyzer software with all audio enhancement features disabled. The results do not take into account the speaker. Huawei P10 receives an Excellent score in three parameters - frequency response, dynamic range and IMD + Noise. However, it scores a Poor result in THD + Noise, which is quite surprising, but we've run the test several times, using different PCs and the result has been one and the same every time. The rest of the parameters are rated as Very good resulting in the same overall score. Regarding the speaker, our subjective opinion is that it is probably the best one from all smartphones we've tested so far.
