Oukitel WP61 Plus Rear cameras

The camera department of the Oukitel WP61 Plus has a setup that's already familiar from former Oukitel smartphones we have reviewed. The main rear camera is based on the 108 Samsung S5KHM6 ISOCELL sensor. It has a 1/1.67" optical format and a 0.64 μm pixel size. On the WP61 Plus, it is paired with an f/1.9 lens with a 79° FoV and outputs 12 MP images by default. Originally, this camera recorded 2K videos at 23 fps (sample video). After the last software update, this was improved to 25 fps. Probably it will be further upped to 30 fps with upcoming software updates.

Other smartphones that we have reviewed and use the Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor for their main cameras are Oukitel WP55 Pro, Oukitel WP60, Oukitel WP55 Ultra, Oukitel WP300, Oukitel WP210, Oukitel WP56, and the Oukitel WP200 Pro.

The second unit is an 8MP SK Hynix Hi-846 Night Vision camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 78° FoV. It supports autofocus and is aided by dual IR lights. This camera can also shoot HD videos at 30 fps. The third rear shooter is a 2MP BYD BF2257CS macro unit.

Oukitel WP61 Plus Selfie camera

The front-facing camera of the Oukitel WP61 Plus uses a 32MP Sony IMX616 sensor with a 1/2.74" optical format and a 0.8 μm pixel size. It is paired with an f/2.2 lens and supports up to FHD video recording at 30 fps. Oukitel WP61 Plus Camera App

The Camera app is designed with a simple, intuitive layout. The large circular shutter button sits centered at the bottom of the screen, with the camera switch on its right and a shortcut to your photo and video gallery on its left. Just above them is a carousel of shooting modes. The default "Picture" mode supports AI scene detection, HDR, LED flash, and digital zoom. A settings cog in the top‑right corner opens additional options such as grid lines, picture size, and the self‑timer.

Two icons above the mode carousel let you toggle between the main and macro cameras. The "Video" mode includes flash controls and extra video settings accessible through the cog icon. "Night Vision" uses its dedicated camera and replaces the camera switch with a video‑recording button. To capture photos at the sensor's full resolution, you can select the "108" mode. "Beauty" allows portrait shooting with adjustable background blur and beautification effects, while background blur can also be fine‑tuned in "Portrait" mode. The "Night" mode uses the main camera and so is the "HDR" mode. The "More" tab includes the "Pro", "Portrait", "Gif", "Panorama", and "Mono" modes. The interface for the front camera is almost identical and lists the available modes: "Picture", "Video", "Beauty", while the "More" tab contains the "GIF", "Portrait", and "Mono" modes. Photo and video editing is done via the default Photos app, which has Google Lens integrated. From here, you can enhance, warm, or cool an image, adjust its brightness, contrast, white point, highlights, and other properties, crop, add a filter, text, or markup.
