Headlined by the nubia Neo 5 GT, the only smartphone in its class to integrate an active cooling fan within a completely flat, bump‑free design, the series also includes the more accessible nubia Neo 5 and the oversized nubia nubia Neo 5 Max, the latter featuring a 7.5‑inch display aimed at immersive entertainment.
The company positioned the Neo 5 family as a gaming-first ecosystem built for young users who want console‑level performance without the bulk or price tag of traditional gaming phones. The Neo series blends gaming‑tuned AI, esports‑grade hardware, and a slim, approachable design philosophy to deliver devices that are "Born to Win" in both competitive play and everyday use.
At the center of the announcement stood the nubia Neo 5 GT, which introduces an active cooling system previously unseen in its segment. Its built‑in fan works in tandem with a 29508 mm² cooling area and a Through‑Flow Duct Design that channels fresh air directly over the CPU and battery. The device runs on the Cold‑Core Trinity architecture, combining MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 4 nm platform, LPDDR5 memory, and the NeoTurbo Engine for sustained high frame rates. nubia confirmed official certification for 120 fps gameplay on Garena Free Fire and MLBB, along with a 90 fps experience on the demanding Delta Force title.
The Neo 5 GT also targets precision‑focused gamers with 550 Hz Neo Triggers 5.0, offering sub‑5.5ms latency and a 3049 Hz instant touch rate. Its 6.8‑inch 1.5K AMOLED display supports a 144Hz refresh rate and reaches 4500 nits peak brightness, while SGS‑certified eye protection aims to reduce fatigue during long sessions. A 6210 mAh dual‑cell battery with up to 80W fast charging (45W in the EU) and Bypass Charging ensures marathon play without overheating or battery wear.
Design played a major role in the unveiling. The nubia Neo 5 GT is the only device in its class with a fully flat back and no camera bump, improving grip stability during gameplay. Rounded edges, a 90° charging cable, stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra, and an X‑Axis linear motor contribute to a more immersive experience. RGB lighting and the Eagle Eye visual system add flair that reacts dynamically to in‑game events.
AI also takes center stage through the updated AI Game Space 5.0 and the exclusive AI Copilot Demi 2.0. Demi acts as a real‑time gaming assistant, offering performance insights, answering gameplay questions, and even auto‑replying to messages so players can stay focused. Beyond gaming, the Neo 5 series includes a 50MP AI triple rear camera and a 16MP front camera, supported by practical AI features for everyday photography.
nubia confirmed that the Neo 5 series will begin its global rollout in Southeast Asia this March. Pricing starts at €399 for the Neo 5 GT and €299 for the Neo 5, with both models offered in three color options.
