8849 Tank 3 Pro by Unihertz is powered by the same chipset that ticks under the hood of the Tank 3 - the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 (MT6896Z). It is based on TSMC's 4nm production node and is created to provide a reasonable balance between quality 5G connectivity, power efficiency, and immersive gaming experience. The SoC combines an octa-core CPU with the MediaTek APU 580 AI processor and a sexta-core Mali-G610 GPU. The CPU has a single 2.1GHz Cortex-A78 core, three 3GHz Cortex-A78 cores, and four 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The GPU is clocked at 950 MHz and the APU 580 AI processor can efficiently work as a coprocessor for imaging, display, and gaming tasks. All this is complemented by MediaTek's HyperEngine 6.0 gaming technologies ensuring gamers can enjoy smooth high-framerate gameplay. There are 16GB/18GB of LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 3200 MHz on board. Our review unit has 18GB of RAM. It can be virtually expanded with up to 18GB from the Memory Extension option under Settings->Intelligent Assistance. The built-in storage measures 512GB. Of those 512GB, 495GB are available to the user. The built-in storage can also be expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot. The Dimensity 8200 chipset is used by a limited number of models mostly by Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi/Redmi. The 8849 Tank 3 by Unihertz also uses the same powerful 5G chipset. Our review unit scored 911,038 points on AnTuTu 10 which is a typical result for the Dimensity 8200 chipset and is very close to the ~912K result of the Tank 3. The single-core and multi-core Geekbench 6 results also show a solid performance typical for this particular SoC. The PCMark Work 3.0 result supports these findings, too. The chipset maxed out three out of five Sling Shot tests from the 3DMark set and the Wild Life test results from 3DMark also demonstrate excellent performance prowess.
