Primary camera

Doogee S80 is equipped with two rear cameras. The main one combines a 12MP Sony IMX363 Exmor RS sensor and an f/2.8 lens. The official specs say it's an f/1.8 one but the file info on all photos we've taken states f/2.8. The image sensor has a 1/2.55-inch size and a 1.4-micron pixel microarchitecture. This camera takes photos with a resolution of 4032 x 3024 pixels and shoots 1080p videos at 30 fps. The second rear camera employs a 5MP sensor (unspecified model) which is used only in the SLR shooting mode - it creates a depth effect that should result in a background blur, but again as with most affordable smartphones, this effect does not look natural. The main camera is aided by a dual-tone LED flash and dual phase detection AF. The Sony IMX363 sensor can be found on the main rear cameras of Doogee S70, Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S.

Secondary camera

The front-facing camera is equipped with a 16MP Samsung S5K3P9SP ISOCELL Slim sensor. It has a 1/3.1" size and a 1.0μm pixel size and is coupled with an 80-degree wide-angle lens with an f/2.8 aperture. The camera takes photos with a resolution of 4608 x 3456 pixels and shoots 1080p videos at 30 fps. It supports face unlock and is used by the front camera of Doogee S70 and Nokia X6.

Cameras

Doogee S80 utilizes a simple Camera application. The main screen contains a circular shutter button placed centrally at the bottom with a shortcut to the list of photos and videos to its left and a shortcut to the video recorder to its right. The top of the screen displays the flash options (left corner), SLR mode (uses the second rear camera), the self-timer and the camera switch (right corner). The various shooting modes are accessed by swiping to the right. They include Normal (the default), SLR, HDR, Panorama, Beauty, Child, Watermark, FilmMode, QRScan mode. The Child mode creates different sounds that attract the attention of the child so you have several seconds to make a shot. The Watermark one allows you to add several signs on the photo. Both modes allow you to download additional sounds and watermarks from the internet. The FilmMode makes a widescreen landscape shot. The QR scanner is already familiar. The SLR mode is the only mode in which the device uses the two rear cameras. The second one is responsible for the depth of field. The Beauty mode allows you to adjust the beautification level of four main features - skin, face slimming, eye enlargement and overall beautification. The video shooting options include only video beautification.
The camera settings are accessed from the list of shooting modes and do not offer lots of options. From here you can set the photo and video resolution for the front and rear camera, toggle on/off the grid and the mirror function of the front camera, toggle on/off the location tag, shutter sound, and touch to capture. You can activate face recognition for taking photos, set the volume button to serve as a shutter, etc. The interface and settings for the front camera are almost the same. The front shooter supports a limited number of shooting modes - default, beauty, child and video beauty for shooting videos. When you open a photo from the Camera app you don't get any editing options. But, if you open a photo with the Photos app you get the usual options for sharing, deleting, Google Lens, adding filters and effects, adjusting the light, colour and pop options as well as adjust the position.
