Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro features a 6.3-inch IPS display with an FHD+ a resolution (1080 x 2340) and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi specifies 1500:1 contrast ratio, 450 cd/m² brightness and 84% coverage of the NTSC colour space. The screen is protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Redmi Note 7 has exactly the same manufacturer-provided specifications. The only difference we could find is that our Redmi Note 7 review unit has a Tianma display, while the screen of the Pro we review is made by Shenchao.

From the Display settings, you get a number of tools to customize your viewing experience. They include a Reading mode dedicated to protecting the eyes in dim environments and when reading for a long time. It can be scheduled to fit your routines. The Contrast & Colors menu offers a total of 9 display profiles achieved by combining three colour modes (default, warm, cool) and three contrast options (automatic, increased, standard). Below you will see our measurements of three of the display profiles - Standard colours + Automatic contrast, Standard colours + Increased Contrast and Standard colours + Standard contrast. The comparison below includes the Redmi Note 7 Pro's highest brightness we've measured.

Standard colours, Automatic contrast

The "Standard colours, Automatic contrast" profile is the default one for the display of the Redmi Note 7 Pro. Under this profile, the maximum brightness of our review unit's screen is 518.661 cd/m² and the lowest white luminance (0% brightness level) is 1.035 cd/m². The contrast ratio is around 1300:1, which is slightly lower than the manufacturer-specified contrast. The temperature of the white point is around 8000 K. The CIE diagram unveils a colour space coverage that is slightly wider than 100% sRGB, which also corresponds to 84% of the NTSC colour space coverage.

Standard colours, Increased contrast

The "Standard colours, Increased contrast" display profile offers exactly the same colour space coverage as the one when the "Standard colours, Automatic contrast" display profile is on. The two profiles provide almost identical results in terms of temperature of the white point, colour calibration, brightness, etc.

Standard colours, Standard contrast

The "Standard colours, Standard contrast" colour profile is calibrated to provide 100% sRGB coverage and this is what it does indeed, as demonstrated by the CIE diagram. It is razor-sharp exact. With this mode on, the brightness drops but you also get a perfect temperature of the white point level - 6500 K.
