Audio Test

The audio test has been performed by using the TASCAM US-2x2 audio interface and the RightMark Audio Analyzer software as usual. All audio enhancement features are disabled. The Frequency response is excellent, the THD+Noise parameter is rated as Average and all other parameters are rated as Very good. The overall rating is Very good as well. These results speak of average audio quality. Moreover, in terms of absolute values, they are very close to the results of the Redmi Note 7. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with dual microphones utilizing AI noise reduction and main microphone anti-blocking function. There's a single, bottom-firing speaker on board placed to the right of the USB Type-C port. According to our subjective opinion, it is loud enough and actually suitable for listening to music unless the volume level is set to the highest because in this case, the sound gets distorted.

Music App

Xiaoim's Music app is not only a music player but also a one-point hub for accessing tons of online music. All the content is in Chinese, of course. This feature is not present in international versions of the software. The Music app contains a My Music area, from where you can listen to and manage the audio files stored on the device. It contains a "Sign In" area and various folders - local music (the one you have stored on the device), playlists, favourites, recently played, downloads. Furthermore, the audio files you have stored on your device are listed in four tabs according to the name of the song, album, artist, and folder. The Now Playing screen retains the same design introduced for the first time in MIUI 9.6. The Headphone and Audio Effect options remain unchanged and can be found on the Additional system settings as well.
