Following the trend from the latest Redmi smartphones, the Redmi K30 combines 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the front, 3D curved Gorilla Glass 5 for the back and aluminum alloy frame. The front glass has an oleophobic coating to minimize fingerprints residue. The handset is splash-resistant. For example, the SIM tray has a red rubber sealant around it which on the Redmi Note 8 Pro was mentioned together with an IP52 rating. However, for the Redmi K30 Xiaomi mentions splash resistance only. The model is available in three gorgeous colors, which literally translated from Chinese sound like this: Deep Sea Gleam, Purple Jade Fantasyland, Huaying Jinghong. In reality, these gradient colors correspond to Purple-Blue, Fuchsia-Red, Light Violet. We are reviewing the blue version. In terms of dimensions and weight, the Redmi K30 is a pretty average smartphone among those with a 6.6-6.7-inch display. It is 76.6 mm wide, 165.3 mm high and 8.79 mm thick. The handset weighs 208 grams, which is also typical with smartphones of that caliber and with a similar battery capacity - 4000-4500 mAh. The Redmi K30 has a display-to-body ratio of 85.1%. Please note that this percentage is calculated by measuring the exact display size and volume of the body. It is closer to reality compared to the official percentages shared by manufacturers. The display has two punch holes in the top right corner for the two front cameras. You can actually customize this area by showing the notch thus limiting the active display area. If you decide to show the notch, you can choose the status bar to be on it or below it. The navigation bar is onscreen only and can be customized but gestures are enabled as well, so you can enjoy a real full-screen experience in this regard. The 3D curved glass panel on the back has a camera module that's vertically aligned in the center of the upper half of the body. It is placed amidst a decorative circle with a 3D effect. Right below it, the dual-LED flash is positioned. The Redmi logo is vertically aligned at the bottom. The top frame is where you'll find the infrared port and a microphone. On the bottom one, there's the main microphone, a super-linear speaker, USB Type-C port and 3.5 mm jack. The left frame is where the hybrid, dual-SIM tray resides, while the Volume and Power buttons are positioned on the right frame. The power button has an integrated fingerprint sensor providing an excellent tactile experience.
