Networks, calls and connectivity

Cubot X18 is equipped with three separate slots. Two for Micro-SIM cards and one for a microSD card, so you don't have to sacrifice a SIM card for more storage or vice-versa. The slots are accessed by removing the plastic back plate of the smartphone. The two SIM cards work in a dual-standby mode. When one is registered on a 4G network, the other one can work only on 2G GSM networks. The supported bands include 2G GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 3G W-CDMA (900 MHz, 2100 MHz), and 4G FDD-LTE (800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz) networks. LTE speeds are Cat. 4 ones. The chipset powering this model is quite basic, so we cannot expect more than the usual connectivity options. They include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi Hotspot. According to the specifications, the smartphone works only with GPS, but our review unit has also successfully detected GLONASS satellites, too and with an excellent accuracy of up to 2 meters. The handset has a Micro-USB 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm jack.
