Ulefone Armor 2 Review

Ulefone Armor 2 sports a 5-inch screen from Sharp with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. According to the manufacturer, the IPS panel covers 96% of the NTSC colour space. A Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with an oleophobic coating is responsible for the display's protection. It is strongly aided by the protective shell of the device, which covers the edges of the screen from all sides. Though being a bit brighter than the display of Ulefone T1, the Armor 2 one is definitely within the same class. Its peak brightness of 433 cd/m² would probably be fine for any other mid-range smartphone, but for a device that is meant to be used mainly outdoors, this is not bright enough. In addition, the black luminance is quite high and the result is below-average static contrast ratio of around 900:1. The average colour temperature of the display is around 9500 K, which is significantly higher than the perfect 6500 K resulting in colours looking rather cold. Actually, this should be the least of your worries as the MiraVision suite allows you to adjust every major aspect of the display so that the displayed content looks the way you like it. In addition, there's a separate Eyebrow mode, which allows for a more flexible adjustment of the blue light filter.

The Armor 2 display panel is said to cover 95% of the NTSC colour space but like in many other cases, it does not. Coverage is very slightly higher than 100% of the sRGB colour space with strong deviation in the greens and reds. The sub-pixel arrangement of the panel is a traditional, striped one.
