Ulefone Armor 2 Review

Cameras

The Camera app on Ulefone Armor 2 is exactly the same as the one on the T1. The only difference between the two is that the list of shooting modes does not include the FaceBeauty mode and the Bokeh one as the Armor 2 does not have two rear shooters as the T1 does and the Photo Editing is the default Android one. The shooting modes appear above the circular shutter button and are as follows: Video, Photo (the default one), Pro Photo, and Panorama. The only interesting one is the Pro Mode, which lets you adjust more finely the saturation, brightness, contrast, exposure, ISO and white balance. A tap on the arrow visible on the left middle of the screen opens a list of 18 filters that can be applied to your photos. The digital zoom icon is positioned above the list of shooting modes. With single taps on it, you can increase the digital zoom up to 3.0x. If you want a higher zoom, simply touch the icon and the zoom scale for up to 5.0x will appear. On the top of the screen are the flash, HDR, Livephoto, and Settings shortcuts. The Camera Settings change depending on which type of shooting mode you're using and include standard features such as photo resolution, aspect ratio, self-timer, face detection, zero shutter lag, auto-scene detection, etc. for the photo mode as well as video resolution, video format, noise reduction and other options for the video shooting mode. The secondary camera shoots in photo and video mode only. It also has the LivePhoto mode enabled as well as HDR options and no flash ones. The Camera Settings are almost entirely the same as the ones for the primary shooter. The Photo Editing mode is the usual default Android one allowing you to apply filters and effects, to crop, rotate, straighten, mirror and draw on the photo, and/or adjust the exposure, contrast, shadows, highlights, vibrancy, etc.

Primary camera

Ulefone Armor 2 is equipped with the same primary camera the Ulefone T1 has - a 16MP one with a Samsung S5K3P3 ISOCEL. This sensor has a 1/3" size and a 1.0-micron size pixels. It features the Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) technology that aims to reduce the crosstalk between pixels. The camera employs a 5-element lens with an f/2.0 aperture. In Livephoto, the photos are with a resolution of 1920 x 1088 pixels. The maximum video resolution is 1080p at 30 fps. The shooter is aided by a dual-LED flash.

Secondary camera

The front-facing camera of the Armor 2 is the same as the one of the T1 as well. It is equipped with an 8-megapixel OmniVision OV8856 sensor and a 5-element lens with an f/2.8 aperture. The maximum video resolution is 1080p at 30 fps.
